Buying a swimming pool can be quite a difficult decision indeed, especially when you are at the stage of deciding between an in ground pool or an above ground pool. Every pool has some advantages and disadvantages. Both these pools are totally different and have some unique features to offer.
Let’s look at the options closely.
The pools come in different shapes. The ideal shape for a ground pool is oval or square. On the other hand, above ground pools are available in the round or oval shape. If you have a big family then the ideal shape of swimming pool is square as it can support more number of people.
Above ground pools are not big in size and therefore are not likely to support more than 5-6 people. But the ground swimming pool is a bit expensive than the above ground swimming pool.
You can have the option of diving only with the ground pools as they have a lot of space. But you can not get this feature with above ground pools as the above ground pools are not more then 6 feet deep. The ground pools could be made as deep as you want. The ideal pool should be 10 feet deep if you also want a diving option.
If you have a small family then the above ground pools are the best for you. These require lesser investment as compared to the ground pools. Here, you just need to spend money on privacy fencing or a deck to surround your pool.
From the installation point of view, ground pools require more effort as you need to dig the ground for giving a proper shape to your pool. But in the case of above ground pool you don't need to dig. These are readily available in the market. These are also very cheap.
But, before making your final choice, you have to consider all your requirements, so that you end up getting the best.
