Five things should be kept in mind while installing the antenna

1] Installation site– You need a clear way to install. The dish should receive information through a clear path. There should be a clear line of sight between satellites with dish surface. Trees and roof tiles should not come in the way of the line of sight.

2] Finding the right place - The dish or antenna must be put in a place, which is clear to electrical lines. It should also be reachable. By this, repair becomes easy. You can also monitor it easily. If you put it on the roof, select a place where it will not create leaks.

3] Have the right equipment - Generally, you have to connect three parts to make the antenna or dish work. The three parts are– a] Dish or Antenna, b] Coax Cable– this connects dish to the television, and
C] Receiver — it plugs to the television directly

The distance between dish and television should be the shortest. You need to measure the length of the cable. You should see if the wire reaches dish from inside of your house. You can also connect a cable snake [usually large bunch of cable wire]. You need a drill to fix the satellite or antenna at the right place. You also need screws for the dish.

4] Know which way to point your dish - You will not receive anything if the direction is wrong. Dish should be pointed between 25 degrees to 50 degrees.  Use compass to find this.

5] Safety first – Take safe measures to prevent from a fall. Life is precious. Avoid fitting dish during bad weather.

Dish antenna has become an asset. Although its initial cost is rather high, it acts as treasure for life. Few can live without television these days.
