Right On Track—Easy Steps To Mounting Track Lights
Track lighting is important. You can say it changes the mood of room lighting. It looks beautiful in different colors and styles. If you wire through junction box, your electrical bill will rise. You have to use track lighting kits.

Track lighting kits plug into wall.  They cannot ease the installation. They do not look that professional. You should use the installation that is more challenging.

Steps To Mounting Track Lights

Materials needed- drill/screwdriver, electrical cable and tape, ladder/stepstool, electrician pliers, neon tester/voltage meter, tape measurements, toggle belts, track light kits, and wire nuts

Turn off the power - You should turn off the power. Check junction box, breaker box, or service panel. Use neon tester to check the circuit. The circuit should be dead. You can check the circuit by voltage meter also. After the power is off, remove the existing fixture. Now, disconnect the wires carefully. The exposed ends of the wire should not touch each other.

Wire the live end—You have to put live end on track. Do tight the setscrew. This will make the live end secure. Now, connect the live end to the mounting bracket. Finish wiring at the live end. This is done by pigtail leads. The short wires are connected to terminals. Connect pigtail leads to home wiring through wire nuts. Black pigtail is connected to the brass screw. White pigtail is connected to the silver screw. Green pigtail is connected to grounding screw. Green pigtail is also called bare pigtail.

Lay out the track location—You should see the track location as per the junction box. You also see the areas you want to focus light. You can buy fittings for Ts or angles. You should check the fittings twice for your chosen track light system. To indicate position, mark the mounting holes. The track should run parallel to the wall. You should measure equal distance of the wall to each end of the track. Put tracks at a minimum distance of six inches from inflammable objects. You should drill holes for toggle bolts or screws. Holes must be drilled on the marked places.

The mounting of the track is very crucial. You should screw the bulbs properly. Do make proper connections to the house the house wiring. The finishing touch is a must. But, you should mount light tracks with the help of a professional. You must not do it yourself, if you do not have the required skill or expertise.
